Henion 18 Dicer

  • The HENION DICER is designed to process webs from approximately 5" to 18" maximum. A nominal web thickness of 1/8" is recommended. The web can be generated from either a roll mill or extruder.

  •  Maximum design throughput is 18,000 pounds per hour. However, design versus operational throughput varies by application, resin, specific gravity, etc. Based on other applications running rigid PVC a 10,000 to 15,000 pounds per hour dicing throughput can be anticipated.

  • Mechanical rating of the 18" Dicer is 125 HP maximum, at feed speeds of 200 ft/min., producing cube pellets and OctaPellets. Actual horsepower draw is determined by web width, thickness, and feed rate, as well as temperature and physical properties. Some products, due to web compression in the feed system, may require a line speed less than the 200 ft/min. feed system rating. The maximum difference encountered in the current material formulations and systems has been approximately 10 percent.

  • Stainless steel will be used for all parts/surfaces that come in contact with the web.

  • The HENION special torque limiting option – a design unique to Henion Dicers - will replace the need for additional an additional gear box.

  • Cutter-head changeover, inspection, and cleanup is faster and easier than other dicers based on the Henion outboard design.

  • The special " wear" inserts that permit easy and accurate positioning the bed-knives to the cutter-head are unique to Henion Dicers. The use of the inserts eliminates costly reconditioning, i.e. machining of the base and slide plate to return to them to their original critical tolerances. The inert ways are channeled so as to minimize water build up.

  • Two bottom rolls are driven by an adjustable Gate’s Poly Chain, which insures positive and quite roller speeds and web control.

  • Pressure plates keep the web positioned and flat prior to being engaged by the cutter-heads/bed-knives. To facilitate clean up, the two pressure plates are equipped with a lifting assembly which consists of two Schrader Bellows Econ-Ram pneumatic cylinders that permit the effortless and safe lifting of the pressure plates.
