The Pellet Geometry Debate

There are as many theories put forth as there are machinery manufacturers.  If you manufacture or sell pelletizers you champion the cylindrical or round pellet.  If, on the other hand, you have the 40 years of Henion experience, you have found that the OctaPellet™ and even the cube have excellent qualities that can make them a better choice for extrusion and molding operations.

Let's look at some facts, keeping in mind that no one method is universally best.

Fact #1:  The OctaPellet™, because it has more surface area than a cylinder or round pellet will melt quicker and more uniformly.

Fact #2:  The cube or the OctaPellet™, not being round, will when entering the feed section of the screw, tend to mix and adhere, versus the tumbling action of the pellet.

Fact #3:  Over 4 billion pounds of products are diced annually and have been for the last 40 years (that's 160 billion pounds).  Many producers are obviously convinced about the superiority of the cube or OctaPellet™ over the cylinder.

Fact #4:  The Henion Dicer can produce OctaPellets™ in 3/32", and 1/8" sizes. Standard cube sizes are 3/32", 1/8" and 3/16" . Other sizes are also available.

In summary, when you are looking for a production capability that has stood the test of time, has a workhorse reputation, has a high degree of flexibility, and is manufactured and serviced by a company dedicated to the future of dicing...choose a Henion Dicer .
